OTTAWA, CANADA and TOKYO, JAPAN, September 29, 2004 - QNX Software Systems announced today that Matsushita Electric Industrial Company (NYSE: MC) of Japan, maker of products under the Panasonic brand name, has chosen the QNX® Neutrino® realtime operating system for its latest generation of security products.
Renowned for its ultra reliability, the QNX Neutrino RTOS will be used by Matsushita for advanced surveillance security system equipment (hard-disk recorders; WJ-HD300 series). Matsushita is a world leader in security equipment and a supplier of Panasonic security systems products for high-profile events such as the Olympic games.

Matsushita has also chosen to use the QNX Momentics® development tool suite, which is preintegrated and optimized for use with the QNX Neutrino RTOS. Matsushita's development team will also be able to access additional service offerings from QNX, such as hardware integration, on-site training, and dedicated technical support.
