OTTAWA, Canada, March 14, 2007 -— QNX Software Systems, the industry leader in multi-core processing for embedded systems, today announced it was named a finalist for the prestigious Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) Business Awards. The annual OCRI Awards recognize the achievements and innovations of organizations and individuals in Ottawa.

OCRI has selected the QNX and Intel Multi-Core Expedite Program as a finalist in this year’s “Technology Partnership” category. The program enables companies to jumpstart their development of advanced embedded devices using hot new multi-core chipsets and the latest in multiprocessing software. As the two early leaders in multi-core technologies, Intel and QNX were exclusive partners in a global program to provide complete dual-core computing platforms to targeted early-adopter companies. The successful program is now entering its second year with expanded plans for more advanced hardware and broader geographic reach.

“The QNX and Intel Multi-Core Expedite Program was created to provide enterprises with all of the necessary tools for their various multi-core projects,” said Mark Roberts, director of product management, QNX Software Systems. “We take great pride in being named a finalist for the Technology Partnership award because so much of our success can be attributed to our partnerships with global technology leaders such as Intel.”

In 2004, QNX cofounders Dan Dodge and Gord Bell received the “OCRI Award,” the most prestigious award given by OCRI, for demonstrating a long and generous commitment to fostering technology innovation in Ottawa.
