QNX Neutrino RTOS Supports New Power-Efficient Intel® Pentium® M Processor

OTTAWA, CANADA, April 14, 2003 - QNX Software Systems today announced it has expanded its support for Intel architecture processors with support for the new high-performance, power-efficient Intel® Pentium® M processor. The dynamic power control feature of the Intel Pentium M processor, combined with the power management framework of the QNX® Neutrino® RTOS, enables thermally efficient operation of systems requiring high availability, such as the control plane within carrier-grade network elements. Together, the QNX Neutrino RTOS and the Intel Pentium M processor also offer developers faster execution of compute-intensive communications applications, while maintaining an extremely small footprint.

QNX will add support for the Intel Pentium M processor to QNX Momentics® Professional Edition, a fully integrated development suite that includes the QNX Neutrino RTOS; a graphical IDE; tools for C, C++, and Java development; and a host of board support packages, libraries, and driver source kits.
