NÜRNBERG, Embedded World 2007, February 13 - Embedded designers seeking short-range wireless solutions for embedded applications and devices can now take advantage of the partnership of two embedded industry experts.
QNX Software Systems, a world leader in realtime, embedded OS technology, and Clarinox Technologies Pty Ltd, Australia, a leading provider of embedded systems, announced an alliance to offer comprehensive Bluetooth products and services to clients utilizing the QNX® Neutrino® realtime operating system (RTOS). The combined product and service expertise of both companies will facilitate the delivery of solutions for corporate entities covering a range of vertical markets globally.
The ClarinoxSoftFrame middleware, ClarinoxBlue Bluetooth stack, and RFID suite (EPC Global compatible server and reader) are all available for QNX Neutrino-based systems, running on an SBC84600, 600MHz fanless VIA Eden single board computer with 1GB flash disk and 512MB RAM.
QNX Software Systems is a leading provider of RTOS and software solutions for mission-critical embedded applications and in-car infotainment systems. QNX technology forms the basis of many wireless and Bluetooth-enabled devices found in vehicles from DaimlerChrysler, Honda, Toyota, and a variety of other automakers.
By joining the QNX Partner Program, Clarinox will leverage QNXs global reach and enable QNX to extend its current Bluetooth offerings.
QNX recognizes the proliferation of Bluetooth wireless applications in both emerging and evolving embedded markets, said Linda Campbell, director of strategic alliances at QNX Software Systems. With this new collaboration, QNX can broaden its support for the continuing client demand for innovative and integrated wireless solutions.
Clarinox Technologies has found working with QNX a pleasure. We are excited about the possibilities that could result from porting our infrastructure to the QNX operating system platform. This allows us to support Bluetooth and RFID as packaged product on this platform," said Gokhan Tanyeri, director and founder of Clarinox.
Bluetooth is a short-wave radio frequency based technology that allows devices to communicate without wires over short-range networks.
