OTTAWA, Canada, May 19, 2010 QNX Software Systems, a global leader in operating systems, tools, and middleware for the embedded systems market, today announced that Marisia Campbell, associate counsel at the company, has earned a place on Ottawa Business Journals Forty Under 40 list.
Campbell has been associate counsel at QNX Software Systems for nearly two years where she is responsible for negotiating commercial agreements, identifying legal risks, and providing mitigation strategies for key business decision makers in the company. She also manages QNX Software Systems global trademark portfolio. Previously, she held associate positions in the Ottawa offices of three of Canadas top national law firms and served as corporate counsel at Alcatel-Lucent Canada, Inc. A council member of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law and admitted to the New York and Ontario bars, Campbell earned her JD from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and her LL.B from the University of Windsor Law School.
Winners of the Forty Under 40 were selected by a committee that includes University of Ottawa Telfer EMBA Director Dr. Terrence Kulka, OCRI Entrepreneurship Centre Manger Michael Burnatowski, Cellwand Communications CEO Nick Quain, and OBJ Editor Jim Donnelly and Publisher Michael Curran.
