QNX Rolls Out New Edition of QNX Momentics Development Suite

EMBEDDED WORLD, NÜRNBERG, February 18, 2003 - QNX Software Systems today released the next edition of QNX® Momentics®, the integrated development suite that allows embedded developers to take full advantage of the highly reliable QNX Neutrino® RTOS. This latest rollout offers developers more tools - all tightly integrated through the open Eclipse framework - to jump-start productivity.

In addition to the many tools already available - including a memory analysis tool, source debugger, system builder, application profiler, board support packages (BSPs), and driver development kits (DDKs) - the latest edition of the QNX Momentics introduces the following:

System Profiler
A powerful visualization tool for fine-tuning system behavior, both in the lab and in the field. Developers can easily visualize events, resolve timing conflicts, pinpoint deadlocks, root out logic flaws, detect hidden faults in both software and hardware, and fine-tune the performance of an application, whether it is running on a uniprocessor or multiprocessor system.

Eclipse 2.0 Support
Developers can fully harness the new functionality available in the latest release of the Eclipse platform, improving ease of use and achieving smoother integration with third-party tools. Enhancements include broader international language support, faster incremental compiles, better integration of VCM systems, a new search engine for the help subsystem, faster startup times, and new time-saving shortcuts.

Multilayer Graphics API
QNX Photon microGUI®, the native windowing system for the QNX Neutrino RTOS, incorporates a new API to that lets developers quickly build multilayer displays for in-vehicle navigation systems, medical instruments, industrial control systems, and other applications that display a mix of static and dynamic content on a single screen.

QNX Momentics gives embedded developers unprecedented choice. Developers can code in C, C++, Embedded C++, or Java; develop on Windows, Solaris, or QNX Neutrino hosts; and target ARM, MIPS, PowerPC, SH-4, StrongARM, XScale, and x86 processors - all from the same IDE. They can even work with a mix of languages and processors simultaneously.
