QNX to Add Support for the Intel® IXC1100 Control Plane Processor

OTTAWA, September 4, 2002 - Easing the development path for networking OEMs, QNX Software Systems today announced that it will integrate support for the Intel IXC1100 control plane processor into the QNX® Neutrino® realtime operating system (RTOS). Together, QNX and Intel continue to deepen their technical leadership in the broadband access, wireless infrastructure, IP, and optical markets.

Networking OEMs are under constant pressure from service providers to deliver high-performance infrastructure products that can scale in processing capacity to handle continuously growing network topology, larger routing tables, and differentiated services. The QNX Neutrino RTOS, combined with the Intel IXC1100's integrated peripheral set, small footprint, and low power consumption, delivers a highly reliable, highly scalable solution for equipment vendors who need to address today's carrier requirements.
