Building upon their strategic partnership, QNX Software Systems and TI will provide automakers and tier one automotive suppliers with pre-assembled reference implementations, including both software and hardware, for the rapid prototyping and development of automotive infotainment systems and digital instrument clusters.
The collaboration will allow QNX CAR participants to take advantage of TIs AM3517 and OMAP3530 processors, both of which are based on the highly popular ARM architecture.
The QNX CAR application platform speeds the development of in-car systems through a broad ecosystem of preintegrated technologies, including products from Adobe, Apple, Google, Gracenote, Microsoft, Pandora, TCS, TI, and others. Launched in February 2009, the platform has attracted more than 50 technology partners and automotive customers and is already being designed into 2011 vehicles.
