Birdstep Technology Offers Free Software Development Kits (SDKs) for Database Products Using the QNX® Neutrino® RTOS

SEATTLE/OSLO, October 7, 2003 - - Birdstep Technology (OSE: BIRD) today announced it is providing free SDKs to promote development of Birdstep"s database solutions on the QNX® Neutrino® real-time operating system. Free downloads of Birdstep"s SDKs are available from Birdstep Technology"s website ( Birdstep is simplifying the process for current and potential customers to acquire and use its SDKs. This eliminates the need to purchase SDKs, allowing QNX developers to immediately start working with Birdstep RDM databases.

Those using the free SDKs will also have the option of arranging technical support with Birdstep. The company is offering multiple levels of developer support, from "Getting Started" to "Premium Level", to address a wide range of support needs. Since most product life cycles last longer than one year, Birdstep is offering product support periods that last up to five years from major product release dates.
